We are a 24 hour search & rescue service to save lives at sea

Story

J2's story: I went to J1's summer BBQ last year and upheld a tradition of drinking till the sun rises, it all got a little hazy during the night and when I woke up I had an email confirming my entry to the Edinburgh marathon - done. Can't say I was surprised, a standard night up in Yorkshire. In all seriousness I've wanted to run a marathon for ages and the opportunity just materialised! This is going to be an extreme challenge that's going to destroy me, but the satisfaction of completing it and achieving our fund raising target will make it all worth it. I'm looking forward to my victory pint of guinness with J1! : )

J1's Story: Pretty much the same happened to me, although a year earlier, I managed to get entry into the Edinburgh Marathon after a few beers. However, I was unable to compete due to a crash on ski's doing a ski season last year. After postponing my entry I am attempting the marathon again and after drugging Dan with litres of alcohol I managed to persuade him to join too. Now I think he hates me.

I have been running on and off for the last 3 years now and actually thought with good training the marathon would be relatively easy. Well, it’s not. Those who know me know I am no athlete well maybe more of a beer athlete. Trying to motivate yourself to go out in the wind and rain to run 20 miles on a Sunday isn’t easy. In fact it’s just horrible.

I chose to run for the RNLI. No real story behind it just that I believe they are a fantastic organisation and all money raised really does go to saving lives. We hope to raise £1,500. This will be enough money to get a volunteer an all-weather lifeboat crew kit.

Any donations will be greatly appreciated and help spur us on to achieve this ridiculous task! Thank you.
