Prostate Cancer UK has a simple ambition - to stop men dying from prostate cancer. Through shifting the science over the next 10 years to focus on radical improvements in diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and support, we will stop prostate cancer being a killer.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Family, friends and colleagues are organising a fifth sponsored cycle ride in aid of the Prostate Cancer Charity and in memory of Chris Martindale. Over forty riders have taken part in each of the rides over the past four years, raising a significant sum for the charity. This year’s event has been planned again to coincide with national Bike Week.

Chris was a keen cyclist and completed ‘Coast to Coast’ and ‘End to End’ tours of Britain. For 2010, we are aiming for riders to complete one of two slightly less ambitious circular routes of 15 miles or 50 miles on Sunday 13th June 2010 starting from and returning to Loxley on the outskirts of Sheffield.

The routes will pass a number of reservoirs through the fabulous Peak District scenery surrounding the Strines area and will involve some challenging climbs. Both routes will start from and finish at Loxley on the outskirts of Sheffield and will be completed at a comfortable pace with refreshment breaks for the longer route and lunch provided for both routes at a combined stop in the Strines area.

If you would like to take part in the event, please contact Ian Jerams by e-mail at ian.jerams@rdash.nhs.uk or by telephone on 01302 796904 to request an application form.
