We protect and support children and young people, providing practical and emotional care and support. We ensure their voices are heard, and campaign to bring lasting improvements to their lives. Our vision is that every child and young person has a safe and happy childhood, and the foundations they need to thrive.

Story

Hello and thank you for visiting my 'Justgiving' page.

Between now and April 26th 2009 I’ll be preparing to run the London Marathon on behalf of ‘Action for Children’ which is the new name for NCH, National Childrens Homes and supports children and their families in a huge variety of ways making a happy life more possible. These include fostering, children in care, family support for disabled children and helping young people overcome barriers and fulfil their potential.

Did you know that our local 'Action for Children' office is based in Merlins Court, Haverfordwest and provides practical help and support for children, and young people here in Pembrokeshire.

You can read my blog following my training and progress (or lack of it) at:

My thanks to Marc Forster who donated his £40 prize for the 'True or false' quiz.

A big 'Thank You' to the staff, children and parents of St Florence VC School near Tenby who have raised over £413 from our mini marathon together.

And thank you also to the St Florence Luncheon Club for the £30 sponsorship.

And thanks to all my colleagues at County Hall and the Learning Centres, residents of Reynalton, Jeffreyston Inn regulars and Darts team, and the teams of the Tenby and District Darts League.

Although I have now passed my initial target of £1,500 I am now aiming for over £2000 and with your help it is possible, so please donate- every little really does help.
