Chicago Marathon · 9 October 2005 ·

Over 150,000 of us in the UK have MS. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We’re the MS Society. We understand what life’s like with MS. We're here for you through the highs, lows and everything in between. Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.

Story

Well - I did it! After 5 long hours and 21 very arduous minutes! Even braving an ear and chest infection in the Windy City, the experience was fantastic, and I would recommend it to anyone who has never run a marathon before. There were so many people running that it took 20 minutes just to get to the start line after the official race start! The spectators were all brilliant (I think there were about 2million this year). They all stood at every possible stage of the 26.2 miles clapping and cheering and encouraging us all.

Chicago is a brilliant city - so much to see and do, and the food, well, I've never seen steak like it! The people are fantastic too - although there seemed to be a few problems understanding the English Accent!

As you can see, thanks to you all I have managed to smash my target fundraising amount - A big thank you to all of you. The site will remain open for donations until I think 9th December just incase there are any of you who still wish to donate!

Many thanks again for all your support.

Until the next one!!! Claire
