Edinburgh Kiltwalk 2025 · 14 September 2025 · Start fundraising for this event

We provide care and support for children and young people experiencing poor mental health by providing and fully funding private counselling, therapy and focus through boxing and exercise in the hope of raising awareness and preventing youth suicide. Suicide Prevention Is Everyone’s Business.

Story

No one should have to feel like suicide is the only option.

On 14th September, my colleagues and I will be walking 11 miles at the Edinburgh Kiltwalk to raise money for our local charity, The Scott Martin Foundation.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Based in Falkirk, The Scott Martin Foundation was founded in 2021 by Samantha Merrilees following the sudden and tragic passing of her son, Scott.

Scott was only 16 years old.

His own struggle with his mental health before his death has left his family devastated but determined to bridge the gap so many young people like Scott find themselves facing and to ensure that some level of support will be offered to sufferers and families while waiting to be seen by a designated clinician or mental health professional.

Any donations you are able to give is massively appreciated <3

If you're not able to support at this time, we'd love you to help to spread the word about The Scott Martin Foundation with your family and friends and together we can start the conversation to end the stigma.
