WaterAid is an international charity that transforms lives by improving access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation.
In the developing world, access to safe water to drink is literally a matter of life and death. Four thousand children die every day from diarrhoea caused by dirty water - that’s one child’s life lost every 20 seconds.
It’s criminal in this day and age that so many millions of people in the world don’t have access to the basic human rights of clean drinking water and safe toilets. And once people have water and sanitation they are the life-changing foundation stones on which they can build a decent life.
Working for a great water company like Northumbrian Water makes you really appreciate just how lucky we are - and the vital importance of water and sanitation.
