Here's the breakdown (at at 29.9.10): offline donations have now reached £4857. Together with the total raised here, plus Peter's £1700, that's only £2 short of £13000! (All itemised at the end of this page)
Update: Wednesday 29 September 2010: "Thank you" barely scraches the surface of how we all feel about this fantastic result. All we can say is that it's utterly overwhelming.
We've been assured that every penny will be put to excellent use by Marie Curie Cancer Care to provide outstanding and priceless assistance to patients, their families, carers and friends at what can be an incredibly stressful and upsetting time. The difference that Marie Curie nurses make has to be experienced to be believed. Your donations have already made an enormous difference to many people ... and "thank you" barely scratches the surface.

Update: Sunday 30 May 2010: They've reached John O'Groats and all's well!
Plenty of trials, tribulations, thrills and spills along the way which, no doubt, you will all be filled in on before long. 1000 miles in 15 days was never going to be easy but when asking for charitable donations there has to be an element of pain and misery involved and this has most definitely been the case! Hopefully now they can have a well-earned rest; the memories of the youth hostels (with no bed-making butlers on call - Mr M could not believe he had to make his own bed!), enormous hills and aching limbs will fade and the stunning scenery, camaraderie and sense of achievement will stay with them forever.
Enormous thanks for all your support and if anyone has been watching and waiting before reaching for their credit card, all donations will be gratefully received, so now's your chance! Seriously, your kindness and generosity will make a huge difference to many people.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
The Coggeshall Randonneurs were formed in 2003 from a group of friends cycling for pleasure once or twice a week. Some of the group had a background in club cycling and racing but the majority of our members have taken up cycling relatively recently.
One of our founder members, John Chantry, died from cancer in June 2006. In the previous September, John, with 13 other Randonneurs, completed the to Paris Poppy Ride for the Royal British Legion.
In honour of John's memory, the Randonneurs frequently take part in or organise cancer related charity rides
In May 2010, the Randonneurs take part in their latest adventure: the ride from to John O’Groats for Marie Curie Cancer Care. http://www.mariecurie.org.uk/aboutus/
In addition to the Riders there is a support van crewed for the first half by Bob and Julie Cordery (currently domiciled in the Dordogne Bastide town of ). The second half will be crewed by Mike Chadwick (from Finningham, ) and John Curtis (from Bungay).

In addition, Peter Symms had a separate virginmoneygiving website and raised nearly £1700 as well as cash donations of £1285. I have not included Pete's virginmoneygiving donations as these will have been received by Marie Curie separately but the £1285 has been added to the offline donations on this website, so we can see the final amount raised by the Coggeshall Randonneurs.

As at 29.09.10, these offline donations add up to £4857.
