Lottie, Becky and Kevin last swam together 40 years ago as children. When Kevin was 17 he developed diabetes and became dependent on insulin injections. He lived with the condition for the next twenty years but then his diabetes became more problematic and he suffered more frequent 'hypo' attacks. Finally a severe unexpected 'hypo' in his late 30s left him in a 'diabetic' coma and he sustained brain damage. Kevin now lives in residential care. Despite his condition he manages well and still enjoys exercise and particularly swimming. Kevin Lottie and Becky are finally swimming  together again and each undertaking this 22 mile challenge .
