Story
Hello everyone,
Thanks for popping by....
As you may or may not have gathered I have been actively raising money from Macmillan Cancer Support over the last year or so in an effort to support a charity that do wonderful work for millions of people here in the UK who are terminally ill with cancer. On a more personal note, I have been doing much of this due to the fact that my mother is one of those people. They are an incredible charity and the support and care they supply is simply amazing.
So, after doing a 9 mile run in Kingston one freezing October morning and organising a rather less strenuous, but by no means any less sweaty, knees up at the Old Queens Head in January, I was left scratching my head as to what I should next in my pursuit of the holy trinity of fundraising events.......and after some (very little in retrospect) consideration I set my sights on going out on a high. Ladies and gentleman, on Sunday 20th September I'm Berlin bound to compete in my very first marathon.
A lot of you have asked this question - "How many miles is that?" - So, just to clarify, it's 26.2 miles. 26.2 miles of strasse, cheered on by pretzel waving, stein drinking Berliners and a host (I hope) of my nearest and dearest. As I didn't want to be the only one attempting a feat of terrifying physical endurance I've roped my friends Amit and Lee into doing it as well, so at least I won't be alone in sheer agony around mile 18....
I don't want to keep you any longer, so may I just finish by saying that I and my family would be incredibly appreciative of any support you can give in the form of sponsorship - financial or by drinking steins and eating pretzels and cheering me on......now I'm off to pound the streets as I've got 3 months left to go and as they say in Germany....Berlin erwartet.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Macmillan Cancer Support gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation, which really does push the total up!
Thank you very much,
Lots of love,
Cramer xx p.s If I raise more than £2,000 I'll do it in a sombrero......
