At Children Today we provide grants for vital, life-changing specialised equipment for children and young people up to the age of 25 years old across the UK. Our aim is to ensure that every child and young person fulfils their potential and has the best possible quality of life.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

You can probably tell from our picture that none of us have any clue about climbing the world’s highest free-standing mountain!! I doubt you would think that Robyn came into work with this crazy idea Monday morning and by Friday we had the hiking boots!! But its fine….Hannah thinks she is good to go with her North Face body warmer, Robyn believes a pair of Roxy stiletto hiking boots are the way forward, Helen imagines it will just be like walking to and from work and Melanie is just……SCARED!!

As clueless as we may be; us Crazy Cows are going to do our very best to raise our target of £11,400 for Children Today and continue to help provide specialised equipment for children and young people with disabilities throughout the UK.

We have chosen to support Children Today after reading about a mother who had to consider putting her disabled daughter into care as she couldn’t afford the equipment she needed. Unfortunately there is no statutory right for young people with disabilities to be provided with the equipment they need by the government or the NHS. However; Children Today ensures that each disabled child is given the necessary equipment, which helps them to overcome obstacles and achieve their potential.  Therefore we are putting ourselves through this gruelling (or ridiculous - when you consider how unfit we all are) challenge so Children Today can continue to support disabled children in the UK and improve their quality of life.

By supporting us and donating to Children Today you are helping one of the thousands of disabled children and young people that are in desperate need of help and assistance. Every penny really does count and can make a huge difference:

£10 - buys support cushions for a wheelchair or a Braille play-ball

£30 – balance board for fun physiotherapy

£50 - powered sensory toys to enable independent play

£120 - a weighted blanket to give security and comfort and encourage sleep

£220 - a safe swing to play in the garden with siblings

£300 - cushioned matting for a sensory room
