Story

As I'm sure you all know by now me and Sam and our company IDN have been supporting Hammer Out for a number of years since the untimely death of a friend of ours Adam Chorley. We have been doing this in a number of ways- Charity Golf Days, BBQ's and my inspirational (yet slightly mad) wife Sam has climbed three mountains9 including one of the worlds 7 summits Aconcagua) and raised nearly £10k for them.

So now its my turn to get off my @rse and do a challenge of my own- so me and a good friend of mine Chris Parr are undertaking a 980 (ish ) mile ride from John O Groats to Lands End in September which we are hoping to complete in around 10 days.

Both of us are complete novices to the sport of cycling, let alone long distance cycling! but we have been training hard ( probably not hard enough looking at our day one route in the highlands of Scotland of 130 miles!) But we are up for the challenge and really looking forward to seeing a large chunk of the UK on two wheels.

We are self funding all of our kit, accommodation and expenses so every penny you donate to me goes straight to the charity.

We've got a great team supporting us:

Two of our other good friends Jon Rose and Jake Routh are driving support vehicle for us- the thought of JR cooking us his typical healthy diet must be worth a pound of your money out of sympathy for my cholesterol levels alone ;-) as well as Lou Routh, Keri Parr and Sam organising logistics and accommodation for us- so we really have nothing to worry about accept the weather, sore legs and chafing in areas that shouldn’t chafe!!

We do hope that you can spare a pound or two for this great cause
