Story

The Mallard in Glasgow, run by CrossReach, has been providing support to children and families for over 20 years, by offering short breaks for children affected by disability and giving parents and carers the breathing space they need. One of the most popular areas within the Mallard for children is the hydrotherapy spa pool. For children with cerebral palsy, this resource helps their muscles to relax and helps them to experience a range of different movements in the water. For children with autism, the pool can help to calm and regulate emotions and is an enjoyable experience for all children. Unfortunately after a number of years of service, the current pool has closed and must be replaced at a cost of over £51,000.
