Story
The recent failure of one of the two 1960's electronic modules that control the generators within 50 042 has highlighted the growing urgency to make modern equivalents to replace these ageing electronics. The modules KV10's control the very high currents generated that make 50 042 move and produce the electricity that is then used to control it. After nearly 50 years of use (and storage for the disappearing spares we have) the electronics are failing.
The Bodmin diesel group have a design for the replacement of the two KV10's however, each will cost approximately £1000 in components alone. We are therefore asking for donations large or small towards this from enthusiasts, supporters and friends of the group.
All donations will go towards 50 042 (though please note justgiving will deduct approx. a 5% fee).
