Story
My Son Aiden is part of a local group of 17-18 year olds from Hall Cross Academy all embarking on a Duke of Edinburgh Gold expedition, they are planning to go out to Malawi next year to help build a library for a school, and will be teaching math’s and science to the children and helping out where ever we can within their community.
They are already working towards raising money to fund the expedition, there’s a long way to go but we are confident that they can put Doncaster on the map as a town that has contributed to such a worthwhile project.
This project is part of the world challenge organisation, Malawi is the poorest country in the world, and they have chosen this project, as they believe they could make a big difference with hard work and determination from their group.
We are hoping that this project might be of interest to you as a way to support a group of local young people who want to make a difference.
As well as taking part in building the library they will be spending time teaching Math’s and Science. Their main focus is giving the children of Malawi the opportunity we all have here in the UK through our education system. By leaving them with a library full of books this will give them the opportunity to learn, to become educated and for them to gain a life long skill.
Aiden has taken part in a triathlon, run raffles to raise money and will be packing shopping in Tesco in February next year. The team is working on team fundraising but they need to also raise funds as individuals
Any amount you can support him with would be really appreciated.
