Story
Myself and others over at Dirt Digglers Mountain bike club would like to try and help getting this young lad out and about again after the families E-bike was stolen. (Please see post off of Facebook). If you love the out doors and love cycling, please dig deep so we can help one of our own!!
Cheers guys :D
PLEASE HELP. Our electric bike was stolen from outside the Orthodontic Centre on Ecclesall Road between 4.30 and 5pm this afternoon. We need this bike for our disabled son Leon. Leon is sixteen. He has many disabilities and is confined to a wheelchair. However, he loves being pulled in his trailer and feeling the wind in his face. In fact, being pulled in his bike trailer is one of the few activities Leon really enjoys. We bought the electric bike last year because Leon had become too heavy for us to pull with an ordinary pushbike. We bought an electric mountain bike to cope with the load we were pulling but we adapted the bike in many ways. It has mudguards, special grips, stand, luggage rack, lights and a connection piece we need to attach the trailer we use to pull Leon.
We are absolutely distraught that this bicycle has been stolen. We have not given up the hope that somebody will be decent enough to return the bike to us or provide us with information about where we can find it. This bike will not simply be replaced by insurance. This is a huge loss for Leon and our whole family.
The bike is a 29-inch Cube with a Bosch electric engine, battery and control panel. Also missing is a beige Ortlieb pannier.
