Recently Atherstone Rugby Club had some trouble with damage to posts. This started a topic of conversation to the effect that we run hand to mouth and because of RFU constraints it is difficult to gain funding, so we rely on contributions from club members and local business. The club has joint facilities with numerous other sports, which is a situation that has worked well for many years, having said that it does restrict what we are able to do and the way in which we do it. This is not to say that any immediate change is necessary, it would be expedient to have a fund of money which could be used for the further development of the club.

I play for Atherstone and am proud of the hard work and time, which is volunteered to the club by committee members and players alike. It would be a just reward for the efforts of past, present and future alike to come together and give the club a sold financial base to pursue whatever path is mutually beneficial to all concerned
