Story
The Sea Shelters which were first established along this part of the Kent coastline at the end of the 19th century have suffered from the very elements that they were designed to protect people from.
Years of exposure and reduced local authority budgets have left them neglected and sad!
The Sea Shelters are soon to pass into the control of Birchington Parish Council and we as members of the community are supporting their efforts to bring the Sea Shelters back to good repair.

7 years agoThank you everyone who has donated so far! This is our Sea Shelter number one - it has more rust than a neglected MK1 Ford Cortana but it's still standing and providing shelter from the elements. Please help us to restore all 9 Sea Shelters in Birchington by donating or joining our group.
