We have a close partnership with South Suntreso SDA Junior High School in Kumasi, Ghana. Over the last few years we have been working with the school to improve the provision that the children receive.
For three years this work was funded by the British Council. However funding has now run out and we would still like to continue to work together.

Our project this year is going to be about food. Where we compare food provided in Ghana to the food provided in the UK. As part of this work the children will be finding out from each other the differences in diet, including why and how these are different. We are intending to visit Ghana again this year to continue this partnership. Mrs Fay is going along with Harkaran Bual from Year 6 and his dad Par Bual (school governor). We are intending to try to raise the money for Mrs Fay and Harkaran’s flights to Ghana.

Our sponsored event is to row to Kumasi in Ghana (on a rowing machine) which will be in the school hall. It is 3,947 miles altogether and would take 1 person over 1000 hours to do! Therefore we are asking for your help, you are welcome to come and row and gather your own sponsors or sponsor someone to complete their rowing.

Any funds raised over and above the cost of the flights will be used to sponsor the poorest children in Ghana to go to school. Both Bramley Vale Primary school and the school in Ghana have benefited greatly from the past experiences. It allows the children to understand different cultures, religions and beliefs.
