I will be spending Boxing Day in my home town of Deal in Kent for the first time in over 20 years and I am marking the occasion by taking part in the annual Boxing Day Dip in the sea. Deal Icebreakers 1981
www.dealicebreakers.co.uk run this event every year and use it to raise money for local charities. This year we are raising money in aid of Freddie Penny a little boy who needs a vital operation to regain his sight and the Tuesday Drop-In Club. This club allows people over the age of 18 year with Learning Disabilities and Mental Health issues to pop along once a week on a Tuesday evening to meet other people in similar situations. Participants in the Dip will also be bringing along groceries and toiletries to contribute to the local Salvation Arm Food Bank. I hope you'll help me help these good causes by sponsoring me to jump into the freezing cold English Channel in fancy dress on Boxing Day. What fancy dress? Viking of course! There WILL be photos - probably too many of them.
