Dee Point Primary School is situated on a large council estate in Chester. The area is deemed to be an area of social deprivation and as a school community, we try our best to offer enriching experiences to all children.

For the last year, we have been excitedly planning a 2 night residential trip to London for our Year 6 leavers. This is the first time our school has ever planned a residential like this before due to the expense!

Next week, we will leave Chester for the bright lights of London and our class of Year 6 children will spend 3 days experiencing everything the city has to offer: museums; the theatre; a cruise along the Thames; meals out and a stop at the Warner Bros. Studio to see the making of Harry Potter!

For many of our children, this will be the first time they have ventured so far and visited places like the theatre. For the large majority, it will be their first ever visit to the capital.

In order to help with the cost of such a trip, we are looking to raise as much money as possible. Over the next 4 days, we will be cycling the distance from Chester to London and back again (624km!) on a stationary bike in our classroom. During the course of the week, we will keep you updated with our progress on our school Twitter page and class blog.
