    Story

We are a group of New Wine Discipleship year students raising money to go on a mission trip to Uganda. The course helps us develop as Christians to lead, serve and share God's good news with everyone.
We are raising money to support the trip so we can serve at the centre.

The centre is 12 miles north of the Ugandan centre Kampala. They have a primary and secondary school, an orphanage for 150 children, a clinic serving the centre and the community, a busy church and a farm. Despite limited facilities and resources, the schools strive to provide an education to the children to give them a chance of escaping poverty and living an independent life. The clinic is open to serve both fee paying and the poor who would be turned away from other medical centres. The church is at the heart of the community and brings people from all backgrounds and tribes together. The ladies group, associated with the church, helps widows and mothers of poor families to start up small businesses and to make a living.

It is very important to us to support the centre on this trip and raise money so the centre can continue to do the amazing work it is does for the people of Uganda. This centre is invaluable to them and the service we will provide will help develop the centre, boost the local economy and give us a chance to give something back to a third world country.
Just as Jesus sent out the twelve disciples with the instructions, ‘go to the lost sheep.... As you go, proclaim this message ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ Heal those who are ill, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give’, so too we must go and spread the news.

The money will be used to provide support and services to the centre. This would include meeting the basic needs of the children by providing them with food, clothes and beds so they can pursue their education. We are also hoping for help with our travel costs to make this trip possible.
