My name is Dan Wellsted, I am 20 years old and am a student at Southampton Solent University. I am a qualified Sports coach in a variety of sports as well as being a Lifeguard and Fitness Instructor.

I will be travelling to Aitutaki (the Cook Islands) in July 2017 to do some voluntary work, teaching the children Sport and Motor Development skills. These skills are VITAL in the development of all children, but some are not as fortunate as us in the UK.

I (along with some other volunteers) will be providing quality Sports, P.E and Games lessons to a school in Aitutaki teaching them the basics and inspiring them to take up Sport and allow them to change their lives through activity.

I have worked with children since I was 14, coaching and teaching using the thing I LOVE most which is Sport. I had the opportunity to follow my dreams in this field, but some children don't get that chance. I hope to being able to change this in a small way and allow them to see Sport in a totally different way.
