Davey is our little Lhasa Apso fur baby. He was born with a grade 4 heart murmur and as such didn't have a good prognosis. It was anticipated that he would only have a brief chance at life....but nobody told that to Dave and as such he's 8.5 years down the line.

I'm not going to lie...he's a horrible wee dug. 😂 He loves his family and his sisters....but pretty much has zero time for anyone else in his life. He cannot even stand his cat brothers!

Davey is now completely blind. As his sight has deteriorated, his anxiety has risen. He cannot be left anywhere without us (we went away for 2 nights recently and he spent his time on our bed vomiting). He goes everywhere with us and would not survive any other way.

His heart murmur is now a grade 6 and the vet doesn't really know how he manages to live a normal life. He runs, He plays, He eats well. He has a full life....albeit is plagued with anxiety.

As most of you know, he recently got a corneal abrasion whilst out a walk (very common in blind dogs). Despite loads and loads of medical treatment, nothing appears to be working. We've treated the eye with corneal repair gel, serum drops, scraped it under local 4 times. But...the ulcer is still there.

Any other dog would have had surgery by now...but the risk of death for Dave is very high. The vet doesn't feel his heart would cope with a general anaethetic...and due to his anxiety (which also causes a strain on his heart) he cannot have the next stage of the process done under a sedation or local.

The trouble is...Dave is not insured. He could not get cover as a puppy due to his heart condition.

So far the treatment has cost us a lot!! As it stands, he has one small vessle in his eye but the vet expects he'll need surgery and before they'll do that he needs a cardiac work up.

I'm asking for ANYTHING you can spare to help us get the necessary treatment for him. I don't want money to be an obstacle in his care but we're running out of it and he's far from cured.
