Story
The National Three Peaks Challenge (climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon in 24 hours) seemed like a good idea to celebrate the upcoming 40th Birthday of one of our 12 strong team.
As most of us have children who will be in Year 3 of Falkland Primary School, Newbury, from September, we're going to make it worthwhile by raising money for new furniture for their classrooms.
We will be organising this ourselves: 10 of us will be walking and 2 drivers will be ensuring we get to each peak in plenty of time.
We're setting off on from Ben Nevis on Friday 15th of September walking 24+ miles and travelling approximately 460 miles by road completing Snowdon before tea.

7 years agoAn amazing and incredibly challenging experience! All of us attempted the final climb with only 1 member turning back for safety reasons due to knee injury. Snowdon took its toll on tired bodies with 5 of the group coming in under the 24 hr mark needing a 1h 30m ascent to achieve it. The remaining 4 all dug deep into physical and mental reserves to hit the summit and all get down safely shortly after dark. 3 Peaks meant 32 miles of walking, 3,500m climbing and 12K Calories burned. Your generosity has been amazing. Many, many thanks,

7 years agoThanks to the massive generosity of our supporters, we've hit our £2,000 target, so as we head towards Friday's challenge we've increased it to £2,500. We've all trained hard, and now getting ready for what looks likely to be a slightly snowy Ben Nevis at 5pm on Friday. Thanks again for your brilliant support.
