Frampton Footlights in the small Dorset village of Frampton is a thriving drama group with actors drawn from the village, our actors range from 6 to 80 years of age.

We were established 30 years ago and we try to be self financing, raising money to maintain our props, costumes and scenery. One of the things that's just not affordable is enabling the actors to wear personal microphones. Currently there are two small microphones hanging above the stage and so actors who are not in the 'hot spot' are not so easily heard.

Many of the Young Footlights who have been involved with us from childhood return to the village to participate in our annual pantomime, they often remark how the experiences they had in their childhood have helped with confidence and sparked a life time passion for performance.

We want to continue to send our young actors out into the world with similar happy childhood memories and to give them even more experience of the technical aspects of putting on a show. They already have opportunities to get involved in props, makeup and costumes, the new microphones will offer not only much needed improvement to sound quality, but also an opportunity to introduce the young people to working with and managing sound quality.
