Dear sports enthusiasts/canoe polo supporters/ friends/ family

We are the Great Britain Senior Women’s Canoe Polo team, and we will be attending the upcoming World Games in Alabama, United States to compete from 11-18th July 2022.

The World Games is held every 4 years for all non-Olympic disciplines and is one of the biggest non-Olympic events in the world. We are one of 34 sports competing at the games with only the top 8 senior canoe polo teams in attendance. We have a brilliant opportunity to compete at the highest level and are aiming for the highest possible ranking.

Having combined both the u21 and senior squad this year, attending tournaments in Belgium, Germany, and Italy already, we have finally picked 8 players to represent our country at World Games.

As players we have to individually take some of the financial burden of playing for our country, paying for accommodation, transport, boats and kit for all leading tournaments and major championships. We are not only attending World Games this year, but also the World Championships in St Omer, France in August so it is a heavy burden to compete at both games.

This is why we would love any help or contribution to get us onto the plane to Alabama so we can represent our country at the highest level and hopefully bring home a medal. We will be taking 7/8 players and 1 coach out our contribution towards the cost is £6000. We are thankful to our governing body British Canoeing who have helped to subsidise most of the cost for us but unfortunately we have to self fund the remainder.

To help us prep for the championships we have been attending competitions across Europe which have involved days of driving, flying and sailing which has been financially difficult. So we are looking for any donations or sponsorship to help us on our way.

Any donation small or large will be so very greatly appreciated and we give thanks in advance for any kind of support given. We will also be able show thanks in means of social media posts etc should it be wanted.
