Story
We've always been family friendly and this year we're making a special effort to connect with the next generation of young musicians and festival-goers.
This year is the 43rd annual Girvan Traditional Folk Festival. It runs from Friday, April 28 to Sunday 30 and the Craic never stops with three days of concerts, open sessions, competitions and children’s events in the friendly atmosphere of the Ayrshire coastal town.
We are proud of the fact that we've been introducing new artistes to the South Ayrshire area, showcasing established artistes, and providing a variety of workshops to local people every May Day Holiday weekend since 1975.
We want that tradition to continue and we're working on a business development and marketing plan to help to secure the Festival's future.
You can help us to do that. Please give a donation no matter how large or small so that we can reach our £500 target. We'll use the money this year to fund activities specially for children. And if this year's fundraising succeeds then we'll use crowdfunding in future to support the other changes that we want to make.

Please do give us some money and also get in touch with your ideas and comments.
Thanks

7 years agoA huge and sincere thanks to everyone who gave money to the Girvan Folk Festival crowdfunding appeal. This was the first time that we had tried crowdfunding and your support has been a real boost. rest assured that the committee will be working hard to make sure that the Girvan Festival continues to preserve, promote, and nurture Traditional Folk music and to pass it on to existing and new audiences locally and nationally. Once again, a huge thanks for your support.

7 years agoThank you so much for helping us to reach our target! We're blown away by your support! The campaign still has about 10 days to run and we're hoping to raise more funds. The extra money that we get will go towards the costs of a fund raising event that we want to run towards the end of the year - so anything you give now will be an investment in the future of the Festival. Will you help us to reach the £1,000 mark? Thanks again for your support Girvan Traditional Folk Festival group
