In 2011 our friend Hayley had twin girls Demie & Ayvah, by emergency c sec Ayvah was born with Downs and CHD, despite being told Ayvah wouldnt make it.The next yr saw Ayvah in hospital,on and off life support & having 13 ops, seperating her frm her twin & Hay from her newborn & 7 yr old son. When Ayvah finally came home 2 days before the twins 1st birthday, she was still a very sick little girl needing tube feeds day and night and on various meds,heart moniter,cpap & in & out of hosp constantly. In 2014 Hay booked a wk end away for a much needed break, & was due to go on the mon but Ayvah was rushed to St.Marys PICU with pneumonitus & chicken pox, tearing the family apart again for weeks, Hay cancelled hol & sat watching her baby on life support AGAIN, her lungs collapsed and her heart stopped 7 times and then Demie got it and was also really poorly but Hay cudnt be there. Imagine that! Now 3 yrs on Even tho Ayvah has life limiting heart and lung conditions still she has been Told by specialist " go while you can" with regards to a hol abroad with her children as Ayvahs future isnt & never has been certain, now after promising them to find she needs this piece of equipment first, its not just for a hol tho its so Ayvah can have normality, stay over @ Nannys & cousins like her twin can, Ayvahs machinery is impossible to move. So needs a portable oxygen concentrater,Hay is set on trying to save but its a long way off and could be 2 late by then, specially as shes on her own! So we want to help, family hols & sleep overs mean memories! Shes asked her mum to take the others so their as unafected as poss by Ayvahs disabilities, but with ur help we can give Ayvah & her family some normality bk. Hay is a good friend/family she is always there for others no matter what, shes always smiling,never complains & never asks 4 anything.
