Joseph has been selected to be one of 12 young people to represent St Christophers High School on an upcoming 2 Week Trip to India to visit an orphanage for 2 weeks to bring supplies and volunteer their time to help while they are there. This is an amazing experience for a 15-year-old to be involved in. All money raised will go to Joseph’s contribution to the trip. He has been asked to raise £800 to cover his flight and expenses and £1000 as fundraising that that will be donated directly to the Orphanage.

This trip is supporting Shining Faces in India, a UK registered charity giving aid to the Indian Christian Mission Centre (ICMC), an orphanage near Salem in southern India. The Students and Teachers will visit the ICMC in May to give much-needed volunteer support as well as donate all the money raised by your donations.

The Shining Faces in India website says “No child is ever turned away from the gates of the orphanage, many of the boys and girls are orphaned outcasts. Extreme poverty drives widowed or abandoned single parents to give up their beloved children. The orphanage is a true sanctuary for these damaged and frightened children and once they settle into the routine of extended family life, they flourish in the security of this happy and loving environment. From now on, fun and laughter will play a big part in their upbringing, indeed laughter resonates from every corner of the playgrounds and buildings used by them.”
