Story
My name is Kaysha, and I am a 5th year pupil of St Matthew's Academy in Saltcoats. I have been selected as one of a group of 10 pupils to take part in a pupil exchange trip with St Matthew's partner school, St Peter's Secondary in Mzuzu, Malawi. The trip will take place in June 2017. During this trip, I will be required to be a volunteer helper in places such as the Mary Martha Orphan Centre, the Woman's Development Centre, St Peter's school and the local hospital. I will be staying in the school and sharing the lifestyle of the pupils and local people in Mzuzu. I am a bit apprehensive but also excited to experience a very different culture, meet new people and share my knowledge and experience of life in Scotland.
As part of my commitment to this trip, I have been asked to raise money for the trip to help with various local projects and help with provisions. My mum, dad and I are working hard on various ways to raise money and I would be very grateful to any family and friends who could help out with a donation, however small. It will be greatly appreciated by myself and the community I hope to help.
Thank you x
