Weʼve raised £635 to complete classrooms at the Liberia Hope Daycare and Elementary School just outside of Monrovia, Liberia.

Funded on Wednesday, 7th December 2016

    Story

Haydn Sandvig is a Grimsby Town whose work takes him to Africa and while he's there he tries to make a difference.

Thanks to the generosity of Mariners and other teams' fans, Haydn has distributed football shirts and equipment to children and adults in poorer communities where sporting goods are nigh on impossible to obtain, let alone afford. That's Haydn at the school earlier this week in the main photo.

This is a bit different though, we need more than just shirts this time. The Liberia Hope Daycare and Elementary School in the outskirts of capital Monrovia is building classrooms and needs funds to complete their work.

A little goes a long way though in Liberia and just £1000 should be more than enough to complete the work.

If we exceed the target then we will aim to provide any extras which might benefit the school's teachers and children. Any further surplus will be used to seed a new scheme in a different community.

we reckon that we have enough to do the original work on the classrooms - any additional funds will go towards provide more modern toilet facilities to the school
