    Story

‘Those minutes while waiting for professional help to arrive are vital, they can be the difference between life and death’

The initial reason for wanting a defibrillator on school grounds came from Natalie, as her daughter Paris suffers from prolonged seizures, which have lasted for up to 1hour and 45 minutes. Natalie is very aware that at any time, this could lead to Sudden Cardiac Arrest, which naturally causes huge concern for them. Paris will start at Ottery Primary in September 2018, along with another child, who is also at high risk of Cardiac Arrest.

Obviously, it is not only these 2 children who will benefit from this devise being onsite. At school, there are students, teachers, other staff members, visitors, parents, grandparents, all of which may one day require the use of the defibrillator while on school grounds!

Natalie already has another child in school, and Leila, as of September this year, will have 2 children in school. We are therefore going to personally raise these funds by committing to jumping out of a plane at 15,000ft.... (Thankfully with a fully trained instructor and a parachute.. phew!)

We would really appreciate all support to help raise the money as quick as possible, so we can get the defib on site. We very much hope that the use of this device will never be necessary. However, every minute without it, 10% of life is lost and with the ambulance generally being more than 10 minutes away, chances of survival without a defibrillator are dramatically reduced.

Please sponsor us, with any amount you feel you can give, every penny will count. You can do this by giving a donation through Just Giving, or you can see us in the playground with our sponsor forms.
We thank you very much in advance.
