In January 2017 I am going to Port Elizabeth in South Africa to coach cricket in disadvantaged, under privileged primary schools for 11 weeks. I have played cricket for over 10 years and have received some world class coaching in some of the best facilities in the UK so the opportunities I have had to develop are vast. This contrasts substantially to the children I will be working with as the opportunities these children receive are scarce so have no chance to develop their skills or passion for cricket. I hope to teach these children the skills I have learnt and enhance their love of the sport.

My family have always been involved in cricket. My Grandfather was a member of the MCC and my uncle still is. They have been members of the Lords Taverners and my Grandfather was also once club doctor at Warwickshire County Cricket Club.

I have been brought up in Hampshire and have played cricket at district level and played at the Ageas Bowl but I also have strong loyalties to my roots in Birmingham.
In order to raise support for my project, my father and I are planning to cycle from our respective homes of cricket - Edgbaston (Warwickshire CCC ground) to the Ageas Bowl (Hampshire CCC ground) in early October.
