    Story

Hart District Council (Hampshire) wish to fully approve a large proposed housing development abutting the Berkshire village of Riseley. This development would significantly change the nature and the face of the village forever. It will increase pressure on local infrastructure and services which already are overstretched.

Hart District Council have no interest in the village nor its residents to which they are unaccountable. The development is miles from any significant Hart settlement and it's local services. This is an opportunity for Hart Council to increase their affordable and private housing stock without impacting their residents. HDC currently have a 6.5 year housing supply, so this development is both unnecessary and unfair on Berkshire residents.
The development site contravenes HDC's Local Development Plan, is in open countryside, on green belt land, outside of the Riseley settlement boundary and most significantly outside of the county boundary.
We face housing development pressure from our own local authority and the approval of 83 houses from an alien authority will destroy the village as we know it.
This page has been set up to raise money to obtain legal advice and to pay for any expenses in advertising our opposition.

If like me, you wish for Riseley to remain a village and not become a suburban sprawl we need to stop this development. Please give whatever you can. Any monies not used will be given to a local charity.
