My name is Saima. I'm not sure if you are aware but a lot of lives are lost in countries that have inadequate training in regards of basic first aid. I myself come from a health background but have had a interest in educating those that are less fortunate in regards of basic first aid. A very well reputable acquaintance of mine along with his group have recently completed their first aid instructor course and are now planning to travel abroad to Asia to train 10,000 people to become Certified First Aiders to further save lives . The project is called the ten thousand project and it will aim to start off in Pakistan with the support of the Pakistan High Commissioner. The main aims are

* educate and train 10,000 families in regards of first aid to save lives where needed and become confident in their own lives

* due to the lack of training and resources there is very little knowledge on first aid hence the reason why my colleague is interested in raising awareness of first aid

* the training will be provided by these individuals themselves which will involve travelling to parts of Asia where first aid courses do not exist at present and minimal knowledge on how to perform basic first aid

* according to research the education system in these poor countries have a lack of knowledge in regards of how to deal with emergency situations that may arise, teachers are not equipped with training or knowledge of first aid

* introduce first aid in the national education system as at present it doesn't exist

*according to statistics St. John's ambulance have reported 140000 people have died in the U.K. from not having professional first aid emergency response training. This is a country where training is provided on a daily basis

*my main goal in this project is to raise money to provide 100/200 first aid kits which can then be distrubuted to local schools in Asia. At present there is no facility of first aid in schools in Asia
