My mum has been battling kidney cancer for 6 years now and after so many different intensive medicines and hospital trials and two massive surgeries, the first being removal of a kidney and second removed part of a lung. Unfortunately, it has moved to her bones including her spine and spread back into her lungs. My mum is very special and the centre of all our lives and family and I cannot risk losing my mum!

She is such a friendly and outgoing person who, both kindly and freely, gives herself unselfishly to help and serve the need of others. This is what makes her so unique and memorable as a person. My mum holds precious her strongly held views for family values. My mum's zest for life, alongside her yearning desire for normality, are sure signs of her being a strongly spirited individual. My mum has so much to live for and so much left she wants to do before she goes, my son, her grandson was born on the 9th December 2016, my brothers child, her granddaughter Madelyn, was born in October 2010. These are just parts of our family that need to grow up knowing their grandmother.

We are desperate to get my mum into remission so we can end this battle where it often seems cancer always wins. After much reasearch on my families behalfs we have found that SBRT (stereotactic body radiation therapy) taken together with the latest immunotherapy could offer us the opportunity to save her life. Unfortunately, such treatment is not available under the NHS and despite its use being recommended by medical experts, the provision of SBRT requires to be self-funded here in the UK. Ironically, the same treatment in USA would be offered as standard of care.

This treatment combination of 'immunotherapy and SBRT' is considered the most likely option to work and we are trying our utmost to raise the money needed to save my mother!
