Story
Hi all,
As part of a trip I have planned to India (dates are confirmed but I will not be publicly announcing) I will be helping schools in the poor villages of the Punjab, as this is the closest I can get to my ancestry. In 2012, I was of a young age and visited Mumbai where we visited a school from children of the slums (photographed in the cover photo of this page). These young children had very limited access to education, food and a career in the future yet they were probably the happiest and most grateful children I had met.
An education is the access to the future for everyone. I have particularly chosen schools, as many of the village schools lack funding and rely on donations. As part of my visit, I will be providing fruit, food, stationary, mats and providing money for maintenance works for the schools. Many of these children's parents are very poor villagers and as a result their child's education is not always a top priority. During my trip I am also hoping to give English lessons to the children. Whilst I intend to donate out of my own money, I would appreciate any contributions, and will inform you of how your money has been spent after my trip! The minimalist contributions can make the greatest difference to these children's lives. Their little smiles light up a whole room and its a feeling that is irreplaceable.
Thanks in advance!
Serina xo
