Story
Following a meeting in March organised by Stapleford Community Group various groups and organisations from Stapleford have come together to put on an event to be known as STAPLEFORD REMEMBERS to help commemorate the centenary of the ending of THE GREAT WAR.
It was agreed to try and decorate the Town with EVENT POPPIES, these are approximately 18 inch in size and will be attached to Lampposts around Stapleford, if we can raise enough funding (£564) to purchase 188 then we will include the names of each Soldier from the Memorial inside St Helens Church. Each EVENT POPPY will cost only £3.00. The idea is that we put these up in August and leave them up until November for the Remembrance Day Event. We are asking if you would like to make a donation towards these.
There is also the opportunity to install SILENT SOLDIERS around Stapleford and these cost £100 (plain) or £250 (with a sponsors name attached). We are asking if you would like to make a donation towards these.
We have the opportunity to put on a production called THE CANARY GIRLS by the Arletty Theatre Company and the cost for this production is £1000. We are asking if you would like to make a donation towards this.
