Colchester Borough Council plan to build 350 houses in West Mersea which will mean a population increase of around 14%.
The existing infrastructure is not capable of sustaining this increase in residents.
STOP350 has been formed by local residents to oppose these plans.
We ask for your financial support to help us save Mersea; to campaign against this; employ legal and specialist help as necessary; fund leaflets and meetings to update the community on Mersea; and to create a website.
The opposition is now on to stop the plan for 350 houses.
Mersea has spoken against Colchester Borough Council, over 600 attended meeting at the MICA in September.
More than 520 objections have been registered at Colchester Borough Council.
There were many complaints about the consultation process and the
Colchester Borough plans came under considerable attack.
The Mersea Stop350 group was formed to organise responsible and informed opposition; to keep pressure on Colchester Borough Council;
and to produce an authoratative report opposing their plans.
To ensure that the local community is involved.
To produce reliable and up to date information.
To plan and finance the case if required for a planning inspector.
The neighbourhood plan by West Mersea town council will likely be too late to stop the Dawes Lane and Brierley Paddocks developments.

Support the STOP350 group, make a donation to the cause, support the opposition.
The increase of one seventh of island population will put even more pressure on already overloaded doctors, school, roads, and more. And what's more Bradwell B is being planned too!
The plan can be overturned – and will be if enough Mersea people oppose it.
