Story

Hi, Thank you for reading this. We at Tattenhall CC did a challenge some 13 years ago of walking to Lords cricket ground in London from our picturesque village ground in the heart of the Cheshire Countryside. The ‘Walk to Lords’ was a fantastic event and a moment we’ll remember for ever; Possibly more importantly it raised valuable funds which has helped us provide a fantastic cricket setting for all the village to enjoy!

At the time of writing this we as a club need your help to raise funds. It’s fair to say the cost of living crisis has affecting everyone, and over the past months we at TCC have become stretched. Whilst the square and outfield looks a well-maintained green piece of land to most, the time, effort and cost of maintenance has increased greatly and added to this we now require replacement of our vital equipment to carry on - namely our roller.

The roller is arguably a cricket clubs most important asset (other than the players of course!) and this has broken down, unannounced and a replacement is required to let cricket continue to its best ability at the hallowed Flacca Field.

In addition to our roller issue, our AstroTurf nets and covers are in need an overhaul!

As a nod to our first walk we are taking on the 180 mile challenge again! Rather than walking to London this time we are making the challenge more localised and village based, given that the community of Tattenhall is firstly, something unique in terms of its camaraderie & friendly feel, and secondly, the majority of the clubs volunteers live and breath Tattenhall - so we feel we should give it some added relevance.

Our plan is do a non-stop walk around the village along the well known Millenium Mile. We will be starting on the evening on Friday March 29 and hoping to finish by Monday evening!

If anyone wishes to walk laps of the journey with us, then you are more than welcome and any support, near or far, is greatly appreciated and for those who are kind enough to offer financial support, you will be thanked by the club indefinitely.

In addition to raising club funds, we will also be donating some of the money raised to The Hospice of the Good Shepherd in Chester.

If you have any questions please get in touch via the TCC website contact page below or behind the bar at the Flacca.

Regards TCC
