Our friend's, Scott Lau's little daughter Kaleigh, who is only 7 years old, has been diagnosed with DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma) an incurable brain tumour last year April 2016 and while she was doing remarkably well through 2016, sadly beginning of this year things have taken a turn for the worst.

Presently, there is no cure for DIPG and the only treatment available is radiotherapy, which is a palliative treatment developed over 30 years ago. Unfortunately, whereas other cancer research has improved survival rates over the years, the lack of funding for DIPG means there has been no improvement in this area

The tumour has started to grow and radiotherapy and other medicines have not helped to stop her condition deteriorating. Day by day Kaleigh is getting worse, her eyes have not recovered and she is seeing double, she is still able to walk but getting very unbalanced.

Unfortunately there is nothing else the UK can offer Kaleigh, so the family has made the life changing decision to pack their life and go to Mexico where there is a new intra-arterial chemotherapy treatment that seems to be promising to children with this condition.

Comes to no surprise this is going to a very expensive trip, but understandably Scott and his wife are prepared to do whatever it takes to save their daughter's life.

To help Scott we have decided to help raise some funds. We are a bunch of lads from Essex and will be getting our Legs Waxed. Yes I Know....

Donations will be used to fund the treatments of drugs but also flights and accommodation and therapies required by Kaleigh in the immediate future and going forward.
