Arron Davies who trains at The Waterski Academy C.I.C. in Whitworth has been chosen to represent Great Britain at the Under 17's World Championships.

The Event is being staged in Chile next January but as water skiing is not an Olympic Sport it only receives a small contribution from Sport England towards the costs of it's International Teams.

The cost of entry fees, travel, accommodation, practise etc. is in excess of £36,000 for 6 Team Members. A sum I am sure you can appreciate is prohibitive for British Water Ski & Wakeboard's Tournament Committee who can only contribute partially. However if all of us chip in I am sure we can get them there.

Arron helped The British Team take Silver in this years European Championships being narrowly beaten by the French. Making all three finals and contributing valuable team points in each discipline he also showed how he is maturing as a competitor taking Bronze in Slalom from a seeding of fifth.

Arron is training hard on the cold water of Cowm Reservoir to improve his trick skiing (his weaker discipline) so he can increase his contribution to the Team and "beat the French" next time.

When he is not skiing Arron is a great role model for all the other youngsters at the Waterski Academy. He is fully committed to the ethos of the Academy and is always available to assist voluntarily when we run our group sessions for the disabled, Charities, schools etc.

He is a thoroughly decent young man who deserves your support by helping him to fulfil this opportunity.
