Don't have time to donate right now?
Story
This is an opportunity I couldn’t pass up and also allows me to reunite with my two most favourite Aussies (whose crazy idea this was and who I haven’t seen in 3 years!). I figure what is life for if not to challenge yourself and grab these adventures when you can, it makes it all worthwhile and if nothing else I will hopefully get some great photos for instagram! ;)
Anyway I should mention that I am not a hill walker, a hiker or a climber. I don’t spend my weekends roaming the beautiful Scottish countryside or Munro bagging. So to say this will be a challenge is an understatement. I think I may have just lost my tiny mind, but also am mega excited. I guess I should really get out there and get racking up the miles.
You may have heard of Crowdfunding, it is basically me asking you to pay for me to go on this amazing adventure. Or I could sell a lung, I’ve heard you don’t need them at that altitude anyway! I know it’s cheeky as f**k but hey, it might just alleviate my credit card bill a bit and help me buy some decent kit that might help keep me safe and well prepared!! However, I do promise to donate half of anything raised to charity. I am going to donate to CAN – Community Action Nepal, CAN is a mountaineers’ charity to help mountain people raise their standard of living and strengthen indigenous, community-based culture. You can read more here: www.canepal.org.uk
So if you fancy throwing caution to the wind and doing something bat sh*t crazy too, why not donate!! I totally understand if you don’t want to as the idea of donating to the charity of me is pretty repulsive. I may have to throw myself off the mountain in total disgust at myself for stooping this low, but I guess then your money will help fly my corpse back to the UK. Now if that’s not a reason to donate, I don’t know what is!
Thank you for reading and joining my mid-life crisis!
