On June the 11th I am attempting to swim, bike and run a total of 70.3 miles. Why you ask?

Brain Tumours can strike anyone and anytime, and a lot surrounding the understanding of these tumours still remains unknown. But the amazing research being carried out by Charities is fighting back and the care and treatment of patients continually improving as a result.

Unfortunately, friends and family of mine have been directly affected by a brain tumour. The affect this has on the patient and those around them can completely destroy lives. But the support and treatment offered by the NHS and the amazing work of charity funded research facilities can fight the disease. They can support patient’s rehabilitation process and offer priceless advice to those affected and their loved ones on how to adapt and return to everyday activities whilst living with the tumour.

So, I am running, cycling and swimming 70.3miles for charity! This charity, The Brain Tumour Clinical and Radiobiological Research Fund helps patients in the Midlands through treatments and consultations. I have seen first-hand the results of this amazing charity and the difference they make. The donations you make will directly aid patients suffering from Brain Tumours in the local area, and dear friends of mine. A close friend of mine (you'd say family) was diagnosed with a Oligodendroglioma Brain Tumour 11 years ago, and the MRI's, operations, biopsies and the support offered through these hardest of times has been invaluable. And with the very recent shock of unexpected bad news this support is more profound than ever.
