"Where are all the disabled heroes in books?" so said a friend a couple of years ago in Lewes when a group of disabled people were talking about films, books and the media at a club called Oyster.

It was a good question. Where are we? Where are we the romantic lead in a book? The hero saving the day? The explorer, the leader, the dreamer, the tough warrior? The lover? The comedian?

In that meeting 2 year ago, I made a decision Why not write a book, (a trilogy if possible) about people who just happen to have disabilities and who find themselves smack bang in the middle of a Zombie apocalypse.

TWICE DEAD - CONTAGION is Book 1 of 3 & follows the story of a group of disabled people in a residential home in the South of England who survive a man-made contagion that turns most humans on the planet into intelligent flesh and brain chomping Zombies.

1. Make the book available in affordable print version to be available in bookstores such as Waterstones. The book is for everyone to read, disabled and able bodied alike.

2. Create an audio version of the book for those people who are unable to read or have literacy issues.

3. Ultimately a graphic novel, once again aiming for those people who deal betterl with visual images over the written word.

As Mahatma Gandhi once said, "Be the change you want to see in the world.."
