Story
Wainstalls Conservation Action Group is a local resident group working to refurbish the Play Area in the village. The existing play area next to the village school is in a barren and decrepit state. The play equipment has diminished over recent years leaving a tired old swing-set; this too is nearing the end of its safe, serviceable life.
The future of Wainstalls Play Area hangs by a thread, and is on the point of closure. We want to prevent the closure and raise enough money to refurbish the area with equipment suitable for toddlers through to teenagers.
Local village children provided the design brief and their parents and in some cases grandparents have been involved in the refurbishment proposals. Children are excited by the prospect of a fully operational Play Area, so let's not let them down and we urge you to support such a worthy cause.
With the help of funds raised from the Council and other grants, together with the support from crowd funding we can provide a safe and fun Play Area for the children.
We also have letters of support for our Campaign from Ward Councillor Scullion (Lab), Ward Councillor Smith-Moorhouse (Con) and Calderdale Council.
