    Story

***HELP IFFLEY OPEN HOUSE COVER THEIR LEGAL FEES BY DONATING JUST £2***

As you all know, on New Years Eve a group of rough sleepers begun to occupy the old VW garage on Iffley road which is owned by Wadham and is about to be redeveloped into the new 2nd year accommodation. The group called the space "Iffley Open House" and described the project on Facebook as "an occupied space on Iffley Road to provide secure shelter and basic amenities for people sleeping rough in Oxford this winter".

During their occupation they faced two court hearings which required specialist legal representation and has cost a total of £1000. Wadham SU has already donated £500 to this cause (as voted for in the first SU meeting this term) and calls upon each of its students to donate just £2 to raise the remaining £500 which aims to be a more meaningful show of support.

The occupants (20 in total) have now left the site, as promised, upon being given notice by College. They are now occupying Osney Mill, a building owned by Said Business School which has been empty for almost 7 years.

Please please please show solidarity with the rough sleepers in Oxford and help Iffley Open House cover the incurred Legal Fees by donating JUST TWO POUNDS.

    Thank you so much :)
