    Story

Bodhisattva, is a charity in India, started by a group of friends who have dedicated their time to help and protect street animals in the city of Pune. I truly believe in their cause, and that protecting helpless street animals is a necessity in a country like India.

Pune is a small Indian city (approximately 6 million population) and growing extremely fast. Although there has been no formal census on stray dogs in Pune, as per the Pune Municipality Council estimate, there are around 50,000 dogs on the city streets. Most of these animals are ill-treated by humans, die of hunger or terminal disease, or killed by vehicles. One of the biggest cause for the growing numbers is that street animals are not spayed or treated on time and the Government cannot always provide support.

Bodhisattva, works with the Pune Municipal Corporation to conduct animal birth control drives. As a part of their program they also help educate the society on various issues regarding animals & how to treat them. The aim is to focus on rehabilitation of street animals, providing them with food & shelter, emergency medical care. The organisation is purely voluntary and is not funded by the government or through private investment.

Most of the time animal welfare is not a priority in developing countries and there is no system to take care of street animals. I'm raising money for the Charity, so that they are able to continue the great work for animal welfare. Please help me in this attempt and contribute as much as you can.
