Starting on the 16th of June, this year, I will be travelling to Nepal with Projects Abroad to Volunteer on two different projects. One of these will be a conservation project in Ghandruk a rural town in Northern Central Nepal. I will spend 2 weeks on the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP). This project focuses on sustainable development in the area. When out there I will be assisting in wildlife studies, which will provide an insight to the ecosystems and their health.
Then I will be travelling to the capital, Katmandu to spend 1 week in care centres to support the staff in teaching basic life skills such as health and hygenine. While there I will be staying with a local host family, this will immerse me in the Nepalese culture , which I hope to get an insight into on my trip.

As this experience is unpaid, I will need to cover costs for things like flights, the Projects Abroad programme fee and vaccinations. I plan to contribute a significant portion of my own funds to this, as well as holding two fundraising ceilidhs at Brodick Hall on the 8th and 29th of April. I am also relying on the help of my friends and family. Even a small amount will get me one step closer to my goal. Thank you in advance for any support you can give.
