I absolutely hate to do this, as we are quite proud people, but I really need to do this for my husband, he is disabled and is a fulltime wheelchair user, he suffers with Chronic pain, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, Osteoarthritis and CFS, every year he is getting worse and worse, so much so that last year he only went out about 15 times, this year he has been out only 6 times, these times out are for medical appointments.
He spends his days stuck in the lounge on the settee until its bedtime, he has no life, and he struggles with this, especially when its the Summer months, as we have a patio with three steps to get into the garden, last year my husband could just manage to bum down the steps to get into the garden, but this year, he is at the stage where he can no longer do this, he tried to do this as our Grandson wanted to have a picnic in the garden, unfortunately my husband ended up being stuck and extremely unwell and couldn't get back in, this is when we realised that he can no longer do this.
This is extremely upsetting, as when family and friends visit, we can not sit out in the garden, or if we have a celebration and have a barbecue, my husband is stuck inside and can not join in, this is absolutely awful for him, he feels isolated and very alone, we feel guilty as a family that we are outside and he is not, but he insists we go out, as he does not want his ill health to affect all of us.
So I would like to raise the money to getting decking put outside level with the back door, this would enable him to at least get outside, feel the sun and get some fresh air and to not feel isolated.
In August my husband celebrates his 50th Birthday and I would love to be able to have it completed by then, so he can enjoy having a barbecue for his birthday.
